Environmental Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Environmental Commitment
CasDrive is committed to minimizing environmental impact while advancing aerospace technology research. As a research-focused institution, we recognize the potential environmental effects of spaceflight activities and integrate sustainability into our research and operational framework.
2. Research Phase Environmental Measures
- Digital-first approach — Prioritizing computational simulation and digital twins to reduce material consumption from physical prototypes
- Open research — Publishing research openly to avoid resource waste from duplicate research efforts
- Low-carbon infrastructure — Selecting data centers powered by renewable energy for our servers
3. Propulsion System Environmental Design Principles
In propulsion system design, we prioritize:
- Clean propulsion — High specific impulse systems (ion drives, nuclear thermal) dramatically reduce propellant consumption compared to chemical rockets
- Zero-emission goal — Long-term propulsion technologies (Casimir effect, vacuum energy) are designed with zero emissions as a target
- Space debris responsibility — All spacecraft concepts include end-of-life deorbit or active retrieval plans
- Atmospheric impact assessment — Launch and re-entry profiles will be evaluated for ozone layer and atmospheric composition effects
4. Operational Sustainability
- Pursuing carbon-neutral office operations
- Minimizing paper use through document digitization
- Prioritizing sustainable supply chain partners
5. Compliance
We comply with applicable national and international environmental regulations, including environmental protection clauses in the PRC Environmental Protection Law and relevant space regulations.
6. Continuous Improvement
We will regularly review and update this environmental policy, continuously raising our environmental standards as our research and operations evolve.
